Had an ADHD assessment online with Dr Craig, I work for two psychiatrists who carry out ADHD assessments, was hopeful that I was in good hands. He was running 15 minutes late but I didn’t mind as I know things can happen, he then joined the video and sat in silence for the first 5 minutes. Dr Craig didn’t read any of my forms I filled in prior and was asking very basic questions. He was too pre-occupied by typing on his computer and also kept saying “hmm” a lot. He asked me 3 times if I had a partner and on the third time said “oh yes, i’ve already asked you this”. Halfway through the appointment, the doorbell went and he left his desk for 15 minutes to hand out prescriptions to patients. I was sat staring at a chair whilst he was saying through his headset “don’t worry i’m still listening”. It turns out his secretary was in, so he was doing the admin bits himself. The assessment finished within 40 minutes and he said “if you can send me over school reports, i’ll make my mind up whether you have ADHD or not”. I was extremely disappointed and upset after the appointment as I felt I wasted 6 months waiting for the appointment to get nothing. Dr Craig lacked empathy and made rude comments such as “we can all be impulsive and inpatient”. I would definitely not recommend going to Dr Craig for an assessment, you will leave feeling deflated and disappointed.

I have been a patient of Prof Craig's for 7 years for treatment of bipolar disorder and ADHD. He has treated me both whilst I have been an inpatient in a psychiatric hospital and as an outpatient in Harley St. He always listens to what I have to say, and is very honest about potential risks / side effects of various medications. I believe 100% that I would not be alive without the help of Prof Craig and my therapist.

Professor Craig completely lost interest and changed his opinion of me totally in the last session . He has caused me unbelievable distress and accused me of lying ! He acted out of order in my opinion by making extraordinarily hurtful and wounding remarks totally contrary to previous sessions . He has ignored statements and emails from Doctors and social services and was under the impression I had been having psychiatric treatment for some time !!!! which is nonsense , he is the only psychiatrist I have ever seen .

My experience exactly matches all the other negative reviews in here, so much so that I struggle to understand how people did have positive experiences. I wonder if it's just preference for specific personalities/types of problems, but if he didn't feel like seeing me he just should have said so - I did try to describe my issues before the meeting. With me Dr. Craig was completely devoid of empathy, asking one-line questions (e.g. relationships? childhood? work?), typing on his laptop without really trying to have a dialogue with me and generally being all-around condescending and without patience. This gave me anxiety and in turn made me close up even more - something that shouldn't be the case with a professional dealing with mental health issues?! Was given some forms to fill in before the session, they weren't even mentioned or discussed - no idea if they fed into his diagnosis or not. Oh and despite all the typing, I didn't even get a letter.
